Book "Need to Find You" by Joseph Souza

About the Book: Yasmine 'Yaz' Weeks would prefer to forget her troubled past and the vile crimes committed against her, but when she discovers a hidden memoir in a kidnapped girl's cell phone, Yaz finds herself on the run with an opportunity for retribution. She soon learns that the memoir has the potential to ruin both the reputation of its late great author, Robert Cornish, as well as the reputations of many influential people.
Whip Billings, an ex-cop, unwittingly becomes entangled in the mystery of the missing phone. Realizing that this newfound memoir could significantly hurt the sales of Cornish's classic novel, Force of Will, he begins to search for Yaz. But why are the cops, and a mysterious drug kingpin known only as The Viking, also looking for her?
In his quest to find Yaz, Whip uncovers a vast network of political corruption, long hidden family secrets, and a series of reprehensible crimes. As the bodies in town begin to pile up, Whip knows that he must track down Yaz before she also turns up dead.

My Review: This is a very entertaining novel. The action happens in a very fast pace and there is not a single idle moment in this book. You get engaged from the very first page and finish reading the book on the edge of your seat. Kudos to the author for creating such a marvelous novel. It has all the ingredients to be an instant success. Mystery, suspense, action, it definitely would be a perfect material for a Hollywood movie.
Our heroine is a young lady called Yasmine. She receives a cell phone from a friend with information that some people would kill for.  And the story develops from here, and she finds the help of an ex-cop named Whip to survive the persecution of all police force and the bad guys that want the phone back. The author developed very deep and rich characters and the description of the environment on all the action scenes is superb. The fact that this book has a beginning, a middle and an end is really a plus, as it has become common among the writers to engage in endless series of many books.
I recommend this book to the permanent library of all readers that appreciate a very well written novel. You will not be disappointed.
I received this book from the author for reviewing and I was not requested to post a positive review. Opinion expressed here is my own.

Book "The Mustard Seed" by Peter Szondy

About the Book: Sara, a ten-year-old girl in a small country town, startles her family when she inexplicably begins to heal others afflicted with fatal conditions, making her overnight an unlikely media celebrity. As if that weren’t enough, she insists all the while that the healing was done not by her but by Jesus, whom she sees walking on a lake!
But was she really alone in seeing Jesus?
As the story unfolds, Sara’s life takes an unexpected twist that bewilders her entire community.
Besides being a compelling read, Sara’s story makes for an exhilarating spiritual experience.

About the Author: A former documentary and commercial filmmaker, Peter Szondy is an internationally published poet, educated at the University of Vienna and Loyola Marymount University. He lives in Ojai, CA.

My Review: Peter is a natural storyteller. In this wonderful novel, he tells us the story of Sara, a ten year old girl from a small town that has a faith so strong that affects everybody around her. It is wonderful to read the description of people who have lost faith and through Sara's faith they find hope back into their lives. The simplicity of her reasoning is so sweet that even her Pastor is amazed at her. Visiting priests and her doctor have the opportunity to witness some events they cannot explain.
Kudos to the author, that so nicely reproduced the original story of G. M. Mercier in a way that keeps you on the verge of crying and throughout the whole book you only desire that you have a fraction of Sara's faith. At the end, this book will make you reflect deeply and I can guarantee that you will try to be a better person after finish reading it.
I highly recommend this book to all readers, believers or not, Faith is something that we find in children in its most pure state. And this story will prove that and it will really touch you.

I received this book from the author, but I was not requested to post a positive review. Opinion expressed here is my own.

Book "Night of the Bold" by Morgan Rice

About the Book: NIGHT OF THE BOLD is book #6—and the final installment—in Morgan Rice’s bestselling epic fantasy series KINGS AND SORCERERS.
In NIGHT OF THE BOLD, Kyra must find a way to free herself from Marda and return to Escalon with the Staff of Truth. If she does, awaiting her will be the most epic battle of her life, as she will need to face off against Ra’s armies, a nation of trolls, and a flock of dragons. If her powers, and the weapon, are strong enough, her mother awaits her, ready to reveal the secrets of her destiny, and of her birth.
Duncan must make an epic stand against Ra’s armies once and for all. Yet even as he fights the greatest battles of his life, leading to a final stand in The Devil’s Gluch, he cannot expect the dark trickery that Ra has awaiting him.
In the Bay of Death, Merk and King Tarnis’ daughter must join forces with Alec and the warriors of the Lost Isles to fight off the dragons. They must find Duncan and unite to save Escalon, yet Vesuvius has resurfaced, and they cannot anticipate the treachery awaiting them.

Book "Europa Awakenings - Europa Series Volume 1" by Pamela Garcia

About the Book: When the Oonocks sank their golden city of Atlantis beneath the ocean, only the words of Plato gave testimony of its existence. Now learn a new thought of who the Atlantians were and why they had to sink their city that eventful night. Find out why 6000 years ago, a race known as the Oonocks left their beautiful lilac, waters of Jupiter’s ice moon Europa to begin a new life on Earth. Discover the real Atlantians. Europa is a nineteen year old human female who has never heard of the Oonocks. And, although she’s heard of the legend of Atlantis, she’s never giving the story much thought. Europa: Awakenings begins with Queen Medaron’s departure to the world above, to the land of air and land. She is with child and no Oonock child has survived past the age of ten for almost a thousand years. So King Enok and Queen Medaron make the difficult decision that their daughter, Europa, will be born on land as a human, never to know the truth of who she is. Twenty years have passed since Queen Medaron came above, and Europa is fast approaching her twentieth birthday. Her life has been fairly normal, as normal as any royal child’s can be. But her safety is an illusion, for their enemy has returned and is stalking the future queen, waiting for his chance to end her life. The day after her birthday, Europa’s perfect world is destroyed when JeffRa assassinates her mother, believing she was Europa. She discovers a secret attic above her mother’s bedroom where she finds picture of her parents hundreds of years old. But the most terrifying find is her mother’s diary. Inside, Queen Medaron wrote that Europa would be born human and never know who she really was. Europa embarks on a journey of discovery, a journey of many dangers as JeffRa chases her, determined to personally end her life. Along the way, Europa will lose almost everyone and everything she loves. Somehow she must discover the truth of her past and the queen inside her. She must learn and accept the true story of Atlantis, the Oonock race and what lives beneath Europa’s ice if she is to survive.

About the Author: P. R. Garcia is a not too-grayed-haired old lady who, at the age of sixty one, was inspired to write a book about aliens from the ice moon of Jupiter, Europa. Sitting down at her computer with a phenomenal idea in mind, she used her love of Science Fiction and her knowledge as a naturalist on the whale watching boats, combined with the legend of Atlantis and Puma Punku and other known ancient landmarks from Earth's past, to weave a story of intrigue, mystery, magic and adventure. For a more traditional account, see her biography on http://www.prgarcia1.com

My Review: The author did an amazing job producing a masterpiece of fantasy, science fiction, adventure, romance, thriller, all combined in this wonderful novel.
Europa is a young girl that has no clue about where his family came from. She was always told that her family was royal, living in exile because of a war that broke in their original land. Although she lives with a very restricted protocol of security measures, nothing seems to be strange for the situation. But suddenly, when her mother is assassinated, her world goes upside down and nothing is as it looks like. She finds out she has an older brother she did not know about and all people around her were there with the sole purpose to protect her. Even her new boyfriend is indirectly part of this incredible tale.
The book is so full of twists and adventures that you will enjoy it from the first page and it will be very hard to put it down. Kudos to the author, who produced a strong set of characters that you will easily learn to love and respect. The scenes are richly described and the persecution sequences are intense.
I highly recommend this book to the permanent library of all readers that appreciate a very well written novel. You will not be disappointed.

I received this book from the author and I was not requested to provide o positive review. Opinion expressed here is my own.

Book "A Realm of Shadows" by Morgan Rice

About the Book: In A REALM OF SHADOWS, Kyra finds herself in the midst of a burning capital, attacked by a host of dragons, clinging for life. With her beloved homeland destroyed, The Flames down and the trolls pouring in, Kyra must urgently quest to Marda to retrieve the magic weapon before it is too late-even if it takes her into the very heart of darkness.
Duncan finds himself trapped, with the others, in the burning capital, and he uses all his wits to find his men, attempt escape, and rally his forces to regroup and attack Pandesia. Across the kingdom, Merk sails with King Tarnis' daughter through the Bay of Death as they abandon the Tower of Kos and sail for the warrior isle of Knossos. Pursued by Vesuvius and his army of trolls, crossing the world's most treacherous waters, they know they have little chance to reach the isle, and even less chance of escape.
Dierdre and Marco survive the tidal wave that destroyed Ur only to find their beloved city under water. With everyone they knew and loved lost and dead, they must pick up the pieces and journey to the one person they know who is left alive: Kyra. Alec, meanwhile sails back for Escalon with the people of The Lost Isles, holding the precious sword that might just change everything. But none expect to encounter a land destroyed, a land that is now teeming with dragons.
With its strong atmosphere and complex characters, A REALM OF SHADOWS is a sweeping saga of knights and warriors, of kings and lords, of honor and valor, of magic, destiny, monsters and dragons. It is a story of love and broken hearts, of deception, ambition and betrayal. My Review: The book “A Realm of Shadows” is the fifth book in the “Kings and Sorcerers” series. The easy and light writing style will hook you up from the very first page. In this book we continue to follow our heroine Kyra, a 15 year old girl, who loves to fight like a warrior. In this episode she is fighting in the capital city of Escalon to release her baby dragon and escape from a massive dragon attack. Her father Duncan comes to her rescue after escaping the dungeons with help of his loyal soldiers. Kyra now heads to Marda, to retrieve the Staff of Truth, while her father moves to the outskirts of the capital to put in action a bold plan to defeat the pandesians. Other parallel stories are told. Book "Oliver and Jumpy - Stories 37-39" by Werner Stejskal

About the Book: Oliver is an elegant tuxedo cat, who is full of himself. As a matter of fact he says: “I love myself!”, quite often. Naughty, isn’t he? But his best friend Jumpy, a kangaroo lady, is aware that he has a soft heart and will always want to help others. The great thing is Jumpy’s pouch, which Oliver loves to ride in! He calls her his kangaroo taxi! These little bedtime stories with their lovely illustrations are great for small kids. A parent can read the text and tell the child in his own words. These animal stories have sufficient text to keep early readers happy and provide some educational value. Depending on your device, there is pop-up text available. Love you all! Meow!

About the Author: Born in Vienna, Austria, Werner is now living in the paradise of Perth, Australia with his wife, two married children and three grandchildren. He worked many years in the printing industry and later for the United Nations in Vienna. His wife had been a pen-friend, whom Werner visited in Hong Kong and finally got married to. After an eventful life, now retired, he began to write children's stories, had them illustrated through Odesk, narrated them himself for YouTube and finally published the ebooks on most platforms. Werner's dream is to see "Oliver and Jumpy" animated as a TV series.
There are lots of fairy tales and bedtime stories around and many of them quite violent. This made Werner decide to write something different. On a flight from Europe to Australia he watched the movie Magic on Belle Island with Morgan Freeman, where Freeman teaches a little girl to have imagination and write her first story. This inspired Werner as well and the first stories with his two characters Oliver, the elegant tomcat, and Jumpy, his kangaroo lady friend, made their appearance. Some very capable illustrators have helped to create this picture book series.
Author Peter Frederick sums it all up!
Here are books created by Werner Stejskal, an author who has a wonderful sense of adaptability into the world of a child. Movements, sentiments, expressions and ideas are being visualised, that enthral and win over the little reader. Plus, his terminology is perfectly matched to the mood of each self-contained story. The author also displays amazing sensitivity and is able to transport even adults back into long-past childhood. All good virtues are being emphasized, like friendship, loyalty, determination and civility, giving the fascinated reader the right signals for spiritual development. The main characters, Oliver and Jumpy, are the masters of a variety of situations that draw the reader into the stories. But one of the main reasons for the success of these children's books is the artwork! The graphics, outstandingly created by the artist, have their hues and shapes completely adapted to the respective situation and so contribute to the emotional absorption of each picture. Text and message. sombre feelings and cheery situations are being created and masterly entertain the little readers. One can only recommend this series of children's books to all adults who wish to keep their little ones occupied in a positive, entertaining and learning environment!

My Review: This book is part of a series called Oliver and Jumpy. This particular volume has stories 37 - Rescue in the Picture, 38 - Wet Cat, and 39 - Down River. It is an excellent gift for parents with children under 8 as suggested by the author. The book is beautifully illustrated by Maycee Ann Reyes (story 37), Yon Rifa'i (story 38) and Mario Tereso (story 39) and that is a very important plus, as its main audience will rely on the images to follow the stories, as many will not have reached the age to start reading by themselves. In "Rescue in the Picture", Oliver paints the place he wants to go on vacation and the painting on the stand let him enter into this magic land, where adventures are waiting for him to explore with his friends Jumpy and Joey. In the "Wet Cat", Oliver is rescued by dolphins after falling from a boat. Finally in "Down River", Oliver, Jumpy and Joey go down a river in a raft and dangerous adventures are close to be lived! All stories are very sweet and even touching and the characters are always showing good behavior. No violence, nothing too scary or too exciting, it will keep your toddler entertained (but not excited) during that critical bedtime period. They will love the stories and soon enough Oliver and Jumpy will be in their hearts forever.

In my kindle fire the story was presented in landscape orientation. No option to have it in portrait orientation, but this is far away from being a problem. I just thought it was worth mentioning.

Book "Spirit Ascendancy" by E.E.Holmes

About the Book: In the wake of their terrifying escape from Fairhaven Hall, sisters Jess and Hannah Ballard find themselves on the run, pursued by the two most powerful groups in the history of the spirit world. On one side, the Durupinen, determined to capture the girls and prevent their role in an ancient prophecy that promises to destroy them and unleash the spirit hordes on the earth. On the other side, the Necromancers, ancient enemies of the Durupinen, hellbent on bringing the same prophecy to fruition. When the girls are betrayed and one of them falls into the Necromancers’ hands, both face decisions with cataclysmic consequences.
Will the lure of power prove too great to resist, or will the bond between the sisters survive this last, most crucial of tests?
Spirit Ascendancy is the much anticipated third and final installment of E.E. Holmes’ award-winning Gateway Trilogy.

My Review: This is the third and final book of this trilogy named "The Gateway". In the first book we were introduced to Jess (Jessica) and Hannah Ballard and we found out about their roles in the spiritual world. In the second book they are headed to Fairhaven to learn how to control and use their abilities. In this third book they leave Fairhaven running for their lives, with both the Durupinen and the Necromancers trying to capture them because the same prophecy. The Durupinen trying to prevent the prophecy to happen and the Necromancers trying to make sure it will happen. And in this particular world, you have all the good ingredients that make this story to be a magnificent end  to this series. This is a very intense book, very well written, with a rich plot developed from the point where the second book finished, and all characters are very well developed. I loved everything about this story. The writing style is wonderful, very well revised and edited, plot flows in high action/thriller style and there is plenty of action that makes you read the book in one weekend, at the edge of your chair. I really recommend this book to the permanent library of any reader that likes action with paranormal activity. But I strongly recommend that you read the first two books of this trilogy before starting this third book, so you can savor all the details of this incredible masterpiece. Very well done!

My Review: The book “A Forge of Valor” is the fourth book in the “Kings and Sorcerers” series. The easy and light writing style will hook you up from the very first page. In this book we continue to follow our heroine Kyra, a 15 year old girl, who loves to fight like a warrior. She abandons her training to go in the rescue of her father, against recommendation from her trainer. While badly hurt, she is saved by her mysterious boyfriend Kyle. Her father Duncan was betrayed and is in the Escalon capital's dungeons, waiting for his execution. Other parallel stories are told. Alec is going in a journey with a mysterious man to figure out what is his role in this story and his friend Mark is helping Dierdre and the resistence at Ur, against the Pandesian invasion. Vesuvius leads his army of trolls against Escalon, going towards the Tower of Ur, to capture the Sword of Flames. Merk defends the Tower of Ur against the attacks of the trolls, and at the end, when there is no hope, he is rescued by Kyle.
